Is Jesus God?

Is Jesus God? Did Jesus claim to be God? Different people and different religious groups have differing opinions regarding the deity of Jesus Christ.
The Christian viewpoint is that Jesus Christ is God. Throughout the Bible there are many verses about Jesus that refer to Him as being God and having God’s full attributes.

Jesus & The Father are ONE
John 10:30-33
30 “I and My Father are one.”
31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. 32 Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?”
33 The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.”

We can learn from John 10:30-33 that Jesus indeed claimed to be God. When Jesus said that He and the Father are one He was saying that He and the Father are of one nature and have the same attributes. The Jews clearly understood what He meant when Jesus said that He is one with the Father. This is why they responded in an attempt to stone Him and accusing Him of blasphemy they said “… You, being a Man, make Yourself God”.
The Jews knew that Jesus was saying that He is God.

Jesus is I AM
John 8:58
Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”

When Jesus said these statements in John 8:58, the Jews responded again by attempting to stone Him. Again, the Jews knew exactly what Jesus was saying; Jesus was saying that He was God. He was saying that He has always and eternally existed just as God is self-existing and eternal. Jesus was equating His declaration of being I AM with what God told Moses in Exodus 3:14 and the Jews understood His statement but they refused to accept it.

Jesus is God who became flesh
John 1:1-2, 14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God.
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1:1,2 & 14 also explains the deity of Jesus; that Jesus Christ who is the Word was God who became flesh and dwelt among us.
1 Timothy 3:16 also says the following: And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.

Jesus is Worshipped as God
John 20:28
And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”

Jesus did not refuse worship and He did not rebuke anyone for worshipping Him. Jesus accepted worship while at the same time teaching people to only worship God.
Below are some Bible verses where Jesus was worshiped:
Matthew 14:33; Luke 24:52; John 9:35-38; Matthew 28:9,17; Matthew 2:11

Is Jesus God? Yes He is.

JESUS CHRIST WAS CRUCIFIED FOR OUR SINS
Jesus Christ is God who became flesh and dwelt among us. He not only dwelt among us but He came to die and be crucified for the sins of mankind. Jesus Christ came to pay a debt that we could not pay. He paid for our sins.
This debt could not be paid by a flawed created being because all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
This debt had to be paid by an eternal infinite being. No angel could pay for our sins; no man could pay for our sins; no animal could pay for our sins eternally. This is why God Himself became a man, then fulfilled the law and paid the price on our behalf so that whoever accepts Jesus Christ as Lord will become born again and have eternal life. Jesus Christ was without sin and He was qualified to pay for our sins.

ARE YOU BORN AGAIN? IF YOU WERE TO DIE – WOULD YOU GO TO HEAVEN OR HELL? HAVE YOU ACCEPTED JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR LORD & SAVIOUR?

DO YOU WANT TO BE A CHRISTIAN or A FOLLOWER OF JESUS CHRIST???

1. ACKNOWLEDGE: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). “God be merciful to me a sinner” (Luke 18:13).
You must acknowledge that you are a sinner and that you therefore need Jesus in your life.

2. REPENT: “Unless you repent you will all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3), “Repent therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out” (Acts 3:19)
Repenting means: to change your mind; a sincere turning away, in heart, mind and action;
Therefore God wants you to repent of sinful values and of sinful living. God wants you to decide to
follow Him and to make Jesus the Lord of your life.

3. CONFESSION: “If we confess our sins. He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9)
God is a forgiving God. God will forgive any sin that you have done because Jesus died for ALL your sins and to set you free from the bondage of all types of sin in your life.

4. BELIEVE: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
You must believe that ONLY Jesus can save you and restore your relationship with God. You must believe that Jesus is the ONLY way by which you can have everlasting life and escape from eternal separation from God. You must believe that Jesus died on the cross for you and resurrected from the grave.
“He came to His own, and His own did not receive him, But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name” (John 1:11-12)
By faith, You must receive Jesus as Your Lord & Savior and therefore; you become a child of God; you become born again; you become a Christian; you restore your broken relationship with God
