Sex Before Marriage – 6 Problems with Premarital Sex

Is sex before marriage right or wrong? With the exception of various Muslim nations such as Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey or Jordan, most people in many other nations have taken a more relaxed and tolerant view regarding sex before marriage. Most societies and cultures believe it is acceptable for a person to have sexual relations with one or more people before committing to marriage. In fact, if you’ve never had premarital sex or if you’re a virgin, then you’re more likely to be ridiculed, frowned upon or disbelieved.

However, does the fact that society has normalized premarital sex mean that sex before marriage is a good thing? Aren’t there any problems that are associated with premarital sex? Also, what does the Bible say about sex before marriage?

It’s an undeniable fact that sex is pleasurable and sex is meant to be enjoyed. However there are Biblical guidelines from God that relate to sexual relationships.
According to the Bible, premarital sex is considered to be a sin. Scriptures such as Galatians 5:19, Ephesians 5:3, Mark 7:21 and Colossians 3:5 highlight fornication as being an unacceptable act or lifestyle in the eyes of God.

People might be tempted to believe that God is just a “killjoy” who doesn’t want people to have a “good time”.

So the question is this: If sex is meant to be enjoyed and if sex is pleasurable – then WHY would God prohibit two consenting individuals from having sex just because they are not married?
The truth is – having sex before marriage has caused many social and spiritual problems in society.

Too often people focus on the “enjoyment” and “pleasurable” part of sex without understanding the other aspects of sex, such as procreation, the Biblical guidelines and also the negative effects of having sex outside of marriage.

If the Bible’s message on sex before marriage were obeyed by society, then we would have very few of the following problems:

  1. We would have few abortions or unwanted pregnancies
  2. We would have few sexually transmitted infections
  3. We would have few teenage pregnancies
  4. We would have few divorces due to mistrust caused by previous sexual relationships
  5. We would have fewer children who grow up with single mothers.
  6. Premarital sex also creates spiritual problems in relation to a person’s relationship with God. If one is not repentant, a person can distance himself from God simply because of guilt and shame.

However, God is a forgiving God. If we receive Jesus Christ as Lord & Savior and confess our sins, God is just and faithful to forgive us of every sin – including sex before marriage (1 John 1:9).
Therefore, even if a person has had premarital sex, that person still has an opportunity to repent and start focusing on obeying the word of God in that area.

Is Masturbation a Sin?

Masturbation is when a person stimulates themselves in a sexual way. It’s when a person attempts to please himself / herself sexually.
Does the Bible say anything about masturbation? The Bible does not mention the word “masturbation” nor does it say whether or not masturbation is a sin.
However the Bible does speak about sexual lusts; it does speak about sexual immorality and it also speaks about the lust of the eyes.
For example, Jesus said that if we look at a woman with lust then we have committed adultery in our heart (Matthew 5:27-28). Therefore God tells us to guard our heart and mind from having impure or inappropriate sexual thoughts.

Therefore, because masturbation is a sexual act, it’s important for a person to examine the actions and the deep-rooted motivations that lead to masturbation.
If masturbation is motivated by pornography or lust or any kind of immoral sexual fantasy, then masturbation becomes a sin. And so the real question is – can a person masturbate without having lust or without being sexually aroused by any pornographic material?

Now, in certain cultures – there are some who would say that masturbation is normal and it doesn’t harm anyone. However, objective studies do show that masturbation has several emotional & psychological side-effects.

  1. Masturbation can lead to guilt because of cultural or spiritual beliefs
  2. Masturbation can become addictive to the point of interrupting your normal daily routine.
  3. Masturbation can breakdown your self-control so that you’re controlled by your feelings and temptations rather than by your mind and reason.
  4. Masturbation can negatively affect your sexual relationship with your spouse by causing you to lose interest & the desire for intimacy with your partner.
  5. Masturbation can affect your soul and your spiritual relationship with God.

So if you’ve been struggling with masturbation and have been experiencing the side effects of masturbation – you will most likely discover that whenever masturbation is connected to lust or immoral thoughts then masturbation becomes a sin.
Therefore, the only way to deal with a masturbation problem, is to deal with the problem of lust.
If one deals with the problem of lust, the less one will have a desire to masturbate.

2 Timothy 2:22 tells us to flee from youthful lusts, while 1 John 2:16 tells us that the lust of the eyes does not come from God but from the world.
We should therefore conform to God’s values and not the standards of the world.
Pornography and other lustful activities are widely accepted in today’s culture.
However, in society one will discover that such factors like pornography, sexual relationship problems and lust issues can be temptations that eventually cause people to masturbate.
Dealing with these factors will reduce or completely remove the desire to masturbate.

What Did Jesus Say About Transgenders & Gay Marriage?

Did Jesus talk about homosexuality or about gay marriage? Did Jesus also talk about the issue of people who are transgender? Would Jesus disagree with Paul’s writings and perspective on LGBT issues?
These are questions that various liberal thinking people bring forth in order to minimize the Biblical perspective of the LGBT lifestyle. They argue that if Jesus didn’t talk about LGBT issues then Christians should not be so concerned about homosexuality, transgender people or about gay marriage.

However, there are many words or topics that Jesus did not specifically speak directly about.
For instance, Jesus didn’t specifically mention the word “beastiality” or speak specifically on the topic of beastiality.
Neither did Jesus mention the word “masturbation” and then begin to speak specifically on the topic of masturbation.

Therefore, just because the words were not mentioned by Christ, it does not mean that both Jesus and the rest of the Scriptures are not in agreement in relation to those issues. Neither does it mean that Jesus did not outline His principles and values regarding these very same issues.

If you read Mark 10:6-9 you will discover that Jesus speaks on 3 major issues that are hotly debated today.
1. Jesus speaks on the issue of Gender
2. Jesus speaks on the issue of Marriage
3. Jesus speaks on God’s creation of both Gender and Marriage

These 3 issues above which Jesus mentioned interestingly address the issues of transgenders, homosexuality and gay marriage even though Jesus does not mention those specific words.

Mark 10:6-9
But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’ 7 ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, 8 and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.

The Gender Issue – According to Jesus
In Mark 10:6 Jesus addresses the issue of how many genders exist. Jesus mentions that “from the beginning of creation”, God only made 2 genders – male and female.
Therefore God only recognizes 2 types of genders because God Himself creates people as being either male or female.
Transgenderism is an ideology and lifestyle that God does not recognize or accept because it’s a lifestyle that disagrees with God’s original intention and creation plan.
Transgenderism is a creation of man and not of God. When a man decides to have a sex-change, that person is disagreeing with the way God made him. The person is in fact, saying that God made a mistake.
Therefore the transgender lifestyle does not honor God. The ideology that people can choose their own genders defies common sense and it ultimately spiritually and psychologically destroys the transgender person.

The Marriage Issue – According to Jesus
In Mark 10:7-8 Jesus defines marriage as being the union between a male and a female. Therefore in Jesus’ definition of marriage, the issue of a male marrying another male does not apply. Neither does the issue of a female marrying another female apply to Christ’s definition of marriage.
Again, in context, Jesus mentions that marriage has always been defined between male and female “from the beginning of creation”.
Therefore based on Christ’s definition of marriage, there is no room for homosexuality or gay marriage because in God’s mind, marriage does not involve 2 people of the same sex, but according to the Scriptures only 2 people of the male and female gender can marry and become one.
Even if a government or nation votes to redefine marriage – God’s definition of marriage will not change.
The principles and values of God stand far above the laws and values of man because God is above all.

God’s Creation of Gender & Marriage
The entire context of Mark 10:6-9 reveals that God Himself is the creator of both gender and marriage.
It is not the duty of man to redefine or recreate genders. Therefore the issue of sex-changes or any type of gender modification is not accepted by God because “from the beginning of creation” God never intended that man should disobey God’s principles and biological order.
It is also not the duty of man to redefine marriage.
Therefore to redefine what God has created in relation to gender and marriage is an insult to God.
Jesus also shows us that because God is the Creator of the male and female gender – when a male and female get married, they are like 2 sides of the same coin. They are different genders but they are one.

Did Jesus speak about homosexuality, gay marriage or about transgenders?
He may not have spoken the specific words, but He did speak on the issues just by simply defining the issues of gender and marriage and how God is the Creator of both.

If you are a transgender or homosexual there is always hope in Jesus Christ. God does not like our sinful lifestyles but He does still love us and He is able to help us to live according the righteous life that He intended.
The issue of gender identity is becoming a growing psychological epidemic and it’s important to receive prayer and spiritual counselling when facing this problem or trying to deal with these issues in your life.
Also by ultimately putting your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, you will be able to overcome and live free in Christ Jesus.

Why Are People So Evil? What Makes People Do Bad Things?

Why do people cause mass shootings? Why are people abusive & vengeful? Why do people lie, steal, commit adultery and do so many evil and wicked things in the world?
If you listen and observe very closely, you will realize that every single day, there is evil happening around the world.
You only need to watch the news on TV or to read about a terrible story on the internet to understand that not only is evil everywhere – but you will realize that wickedness & evil is constantly happening every single day.
So the question is – where does evil come from? Who is responsible for evil? What makes people do bad things – and how can be people be so evil?

The Bible says “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; Who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9).
The Bible also says “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander” (Matthew 15:19).

So what is it – that makes a person to kill and murder innocent people? What makes a person commit adultery? What is it that makes a person abusive and brutal towards others?
The Bible tells us that the condition of the human heart is why we have the problem of evil. The Bible tells us that man is sinful and his heart is not only deceitful above all things – but man’s heart can be desperately wicked. Therefore in many situations in life – the evil deeds cannot be separated from the evil doer.

2 Timothy 3:1-4 says : But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

The Bible also tells us that before a just and holy God we have all sinned against God.
Romans 3:23 says “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”.
Romans 3:10 says “None is righteous, no, not one”.
Therefore before a just and holy God – there is no one who is innocent.

The Bible teaches that the only remedy for the evil condition of man’s heart is for man to receive a new heart (Ezekiel 36:26-27). The only way that man can receive a new heart is by receiving the heart of Jesus Christ through believing and receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold the new has come”.
When God replaces our sinful heart and gives us the heart of Christ, only then are we able to express the nature of a loving God towards one another. Through Christ, society can hate what is evil and cling to what is good.

So someone might ask – why doesn’t God immediately deal with the problem of evil? Why does He allow evil to reign and exist in the world?
2 Peter 3:9 says “The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but He is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance”.

If God has not cleansed the world of evil, it’s only because He is still giving people a chance to repent from their sins and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
God’s patience, God’s mercy and God’s grace is at work right now in order to give people a chance to receive a new heart and to reconcile with Him.
Has God given you a new heart? Have you received Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour?
If not – ask Christ to become your Lord & Saviour today.

What is the Unforgivable Sin?

The unforgivable sin or the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is mentioned in Mark 3:22-30 and Matthew 12:22-32.
In Mark 3:29 Jesus says “But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness but is guilty of an eternal sin”.
And so the question is – what is the above scripture really talking about? After all – didn’t Jesus die so that all of our sins may be washed away? And didn’t Jesus die on the cross so that we may receive complete forgiveness?

The blasphemy of the Holy Spirit doesn’t apply to the Christian believer. It doesn’t apply to the person who has through faith accepted & received Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.

The blasphemy of the Holy Spirit applies to the unbelievers / unsaved who choose to reject Christ and reject the Holy Spirit right up to the day they die. Therefore, Jesus is saying there is no pardon for the person who dies in his rejection of Christ and of the Holy Spirit.

The pharisees not only rejected Jesus Christ, but they would also eventually reject the work and conviction of the Holy Spirit. In the end they persecuted Christ and the followers of Christ who were clearly led by the Holy Spirit and performed miracles and spread the word of God under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

According to John 16:8 the Holy Spirit is at work in the world, convicting the unsaved / unbeliever of sin, righteousness and judgment.
The purpose of the Holy Spirit is to bring the unsaved / unbeliever to a relationship with Jesus Christ. Therefore when a person rejects the conviction of the Holy Spirit and when he resists the need of Christ in his life, then that person is choosing hell over heaven.
When that person dies without repenting, he goes to hell.

In hell there is no forgiveness of sins. In hell there are no second chances. There is therefore no forgiveness for the person who dies without faith in Jesus Christ.

If you’re reading this article and you have never accepted or received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour – you have an opportunity to do it today. You must not die without believing and receiving Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.
As long as you have life on this earth, you have an opportunity for God to forgive you of all your sins. Forgiveness is found exclusively in Jesus Christ because Jesus paid for our sins on the cross.
So today, through faith, receive Jesus into your life and allow Him to be the Lord and Saviour of your life.

What is Idolatry?

Exodus 20:3
You shall have no other gods before Me.

Idolatry is the worship of idols or the excessive reverence for someone or something. In Christianity, an idol refers to anything that replaces the one, true God.
Therefore, when we worship, revere or devote ourselves to anything that replaces God – then we are committing idolatry.

Idolatry is not just the worship of man-made images or objects; Idolatry is not just the worship of creatures or natural things.
In today’s modern world, movie stars and all kinds of celebrities can be idols; Money & possessions can be idols; Social media can be an idol; Your profession or career can be an idol. Your leader or pastor can be an idol; even you can be your own idol.
If at anytime we systematically esteem someone or something above God then that person or thing becomes an idol.
Matthew 6:24 says “Noone can serve 2 masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money”.

There is only one true God. However, mankind has created many false gods. There are more than 300 million false gods or idols that are worshipped by people or different religions in the world.
Even a person who claims to be an atheist idolizes someone or something in his/her life.

Colossians 3:5
Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

Idolatry is an issue of the heart. A person doesn’t have to pray or bow down to something in order to idolize or worship an idol.
Idolatry is an issue of the heart in that if our attitude, actions and decisions reflect that we are systematically devoted to something else other than God or the things of God then we are committing idolatry.

What is it in your life that consistently hinders you from spending a few minutes to read God’s word? Is it the television; is it social media?
What is it that consistently prevents you from spending a few minutes to pray to God? Is it your job; is it the other commitments you have in your day?
Do you find yourself consistently being more interested in following the philosophies, ideas & life of a celebrity or other person instead of following God?
Be encouraged to always take the time to worship and revere God during your daily life.

1 Corinthians 10:14
Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.

God wants us to only worship Him alone because He is the only one true God. He is the God of the Bible. He is the only Creator of the universe and we should have no other gods in our life except Him alone.

How to Overcome Habitual Sin

There’s a proverb that says: Sow a thought & you reap an action; Sow an action & you reap a habit; Sow a habit & you reap a character; Sow a character & you reap a destiny.

What this proverb teaches us is that our thoughts have power to eventually influence our destiny. We are a product of what we think and believe.
Therefore our thoughts and habits have the power to shape who we are and where we go in life.

Now as a Christian sometimes you might find yourself struggling constantly with overcoming particular habitual sins. Even though you’re born again & have given your life to Christ, you find yourself constantly struggling with particular sins that seem to be a stronghold in your life.
Perhaps you have a lust problem; maybe you have a drug or alcohol problem; or maybe you’re struggling with having a short temper.
Therefore the question is – how do you deal with habitual sin in your life and how do you walk free from the bondage?

Here are the following 4 things you could do to overcome habitual sin:

1. Meditate on God’s Word Concerning the Specific Area
Psalms 119:11 says “Your word I have hidden in my heart that I may not sin against You”.
In the area of sin that we are struggling we need to meditate on God’s word and what the Bible may say about that area of sin in relation to overcoming the sin.
Even Jesus Christ had the Scriptures hidden in His heart to the point that in the face of temptation from the devil, Jesus was able to overcome temptation by using the Scriptures to overcome Satan’s temptations. Therefore Christ avoided sinning because the word of God was hidden in His heart.
The meditation of God’s word is therefore an important factor in overcoming habitual sin.

2. You Need to Draw Near to God
How do you draw near to God? We draw near to God through prayer & submitting to Him and His word. When you’re bound by habitual sin – you kind of feel like a slave and you find yourself submitting to the sin instead of submitting to God.
James 4:7-8 says “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you…”
Therefore drawing near to God gives us the strength to overcome sin. James 4:7-8 encourages us to submit to God and then the devil will flee. Furthermore the scripture also says that if we draw near to God, then He will draw near to us.

3. Be Led By The Holy Spirit & Not By Your Flesh
Galatians 5:16 says “I say then: Walk by the Spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh”.
Whenever we submit to habitual sin – it’s because we’ve allowed the lust of the flesh to influence us and so scriptures encourage us to always be filled and led by the Holy Spirit.
The characteristics of the flesh are mentioned in Galatians 5:19-21 and include the following: “adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like”.
Therefore it’s only by the power of the Holy Spirit that we are able to overcome the lust of the flesh and habitual sins in our life.

4. Be Motivated by the Love of God
Jesus said in John 14:15: “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments”.
Therefore our motivation for obeying God and overcoming sin must be to love God and hate the sin. The more we love God then the more we will overcome habitual sin in our life.
Love must be a motivator for all that we do in our life. Love reveals the character of God because God is love.

ARE YOU A NON-CHRISTIAN WHO IS STRUGGLING WITH SIN IN YOUR LIFE?
Are you a person who is NOT a Christian and you find yourself struggling with sin? Do you find yourself to be a slave to wrongful pleasures and find yourself unable to break free?
The Bible says that God loves us that He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins (John 3:16); The Bible also says that we are all sinners (Romans 3:23) and without Jesus Christ in our life we will be destined for hell (Romans 6:23).
The only way we can ultimately overcome the power of sin is by becoming a born again Christian because Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins by being crucified on the cross. Jesus paid the debt of sin that we should have paid.
Believing & accepting Jesus Christ in your life transforms you into not only a creation of God but it most importantly makes you a member of the family of God (John 1:12).
From the moment that you become a Christian, God will then begin to gradually transform your life and your character so that you conform into the nature of Christ.
Salvation is a free gift. You are saved by grace and not by your own effort or ability (Ephesians 2:8,9).

DO YOU WANT TO BE A CHRISTIAN or A FOLLOWER OF JESUS CHRIST???

1. ACKNOWLEDGE: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). “God be merciful to me a sinner” (Luke 18:13).
You must acknowledge that you are a sinner and that you therefore need Jesus in your life.

2. REPENT: “Unless you repent you will all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3), “Repent therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out” (Acts 3:19)
Repenting means: to change your mind; a sincere turning away, in heart, mind and action;
Therefore God wants you to repent of sinful values and of sinful living. God wants you to decide to
follow Him and to make Jesus the Lord of your life.

3. CONFESSION: “If we confess our sins. He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9)
God is a forgiving God. God will forgive any sin that you have done because Jesus died for ALL your sins and to set you free from the bondage of all types of sin in your life.

4. BELIEVE: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
You must believe that ONLY Jesus can save you and restore your relationship with God. You must believe that Jesus is the ONLY way by which you can have everlasting life and escape from eternal separation from God. You must believe that Jesus died on the cross for you and resurrected from the grave.
“He came to His own, and His own did not receive him, But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name” (John 1:11-12)
By faith, You must receive Jesus as Your Lord & Savior and therefore; you become a child of God; you become born again; you become a Christian; you restore your broken relationship with God

Why Not Make Your Eternal Decision NOW?

We become born again Christians by GRACE through FAITH or TOTAL TRUST in Jesus Christ as our Lord & Savior (Galatians 3:26) & (Ephesians 2:8,9). Salvation is a FREE gift received through FAITH in Christ.

PLEASE NOTE: You can choose to pray in your own words. This prayer is a sample prayer and it is only an EXPRESSION of your faith, belief & trust in Jesus. Salvation is by GRACE through FAITH or BELIEVING in Christ Jesus as your Lord & Saviour.

“Lord Jesus, I thank You for Your love. I thank You that You died on the cross for me and resurrected so that I may have life through You.
I confess Lord that I have sinned against You and today I ask You to forgive me of all of my sins, past present and future.
I repent of all of my sins and I ask You to cleanse me Jesus.
Thank You for forgiving my sins.
From this moment, come into my life Lord Jesus & take full control of my life. I want to follow You Jesus and I want to follow Your ways. Save me and from today, make me the person You want me to be.
I receive You Lord Jesus right now by faith. I trust You as my Lord and Savior – Amen”

What’s Wrong with Pornography?

When we look at the general Internet pornography statistics alone you will discover the following information:

• 28000 users are watching pornography on the Internet EVERY SECOND
• More than 1 billion users watch pornography on the Internet EVERY DAY
• 2.5 billion emails that are sent or received EVERY DAY contain pornography

Below are some problems that are associated with pornography

1. PORNOGRAPHY AFFECTS YOUR BRAIN & THINKING
Pornography is addictive and according to both scientists and psychologists, pornography can rewire and weaken your brain. The fact that pornography is addictive in nature is evidence that it has an effect on an individual’s pattern of thinking. Pornography also weakens your ability to practice self-control due to its addictive nature and therefore weakens your will-power.

2. PORNOGRAPHY AFFECTS YOUR VIEW OF THE OPPOSITE SEX
Pornography causes people to objectify the opposite sex. Men objectify women and women objectify men. The opposite sex is constantly viewed in a lustful and sensual way by people who are addicted to porn. Therefore, instead of viewing people in a respectful way and with respectful thoughts, people who consume porn tend to view others with secret sexual thoughts. All people are meant to be viewed and respected as people who are made in God’s image.

3. PORNOGRAPHY AFFECTS YOUR RELATIONSHIPS
If you are married, porn creates unrealistic expectations that will leave you empty and unfulfilled with your spouse. Even single people are affected because pornography distorts the true value and meaning of a loving relationship between 2 people.

4. PORNOGRAPHY AFFECTS YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE
Pornography depraves your soul. Pornographic images have the effect of branding your soul and conscience and the images can remain with you for months and years.
It’s therefore important to understand the negative effects of watching pornography and the long term effects it has on one’s relationships.
God’s word forbids us from lusting and from thinking patterns that are unhealthy in nature.

2 Timothy 2:22
Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Is It Okay To Be Transgender?

Is it okay to be a transgender? Can somebody be born with the wrong gender? Why is the transgender topic becoming a headline issue in certain countries?

What is Transgender?
A Transgender is a person whose gender differs from the one they were given when they were born. For example, a person who was born a male may later decide to transition to become a female. Such a transition may include change of style of dress; change of name; and also change of physical appearance through surgery and hormone medication.
Such transitions will of course have a spiritual, emotional, psychological and social consequence on the transgender person.

How Many Genders Exist?
The Bible tells us clearly that there are only 2 genders among humans. They are male and female.
Genesis 1:27 says “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them”.
Genesis 5:2 also says “He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created”.
Therefore God only recognizes mankind as either male or female and not transgender.
When God created mankind, God saw that it was very good (Genesis 1:31). Therefore when God created mankind as male and female He did not make a mistake to create only 2 genders.

Should People Change Their Genders?
Should people who are born with a particular gender, change their gender?
The answer is NO.
A person should not change his or her gender. God did not make a mistake when you were born with your particular gender. In each of our lives, God has a reason why we are either born male or born female.
God’s word is clear regarding the issue of homosexuality and being transgender
Romans 1:26-27 says “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due”.
Deuteronomy 22:5 says “A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God”.

What Are The Causes For Why People Change Their Genders?
Some men say they feel like a woman who is trapped in a man’s body. Some women feel like they are a man trapped in a woman’s body.
Is this really true? How important are these feelings when making a life choice in relation to becoming a transgender?
These type of feelings should never be trusted. The cause of such feelings can be due to poor self-esteem, past emotional abuse, past sexual abuse and even inappropriate conditioning of the mind pertaining to one’s own gender. For example, as a boy grows up, he might be conditioned to identify more with people of the opposite sex.
Gender identity is a developmental issue, and it starts at birth. As a child grows, is his true gender being affirmed; has this child grown to hate his own gender due to emotional or sexual abuse; does this child have a good role model who can help him grow and embrace the gender that he was born with?
There is no evidence that a person is born as a transgender just as there is no evidence that a person is born a homosexual.
Becoming transgender is a choice that is caused by inappropriate beliefs or wrong thinking about gender.
Our thinking and beliefs should be Biblical and godly. When we believe the word of God in an area in our life, we allow God to condition our minds to think as He thinks in that particular issue in our life.
We must understand that in God’s eyes there are only 2 genders: male and female.
We are all born either male or female and it is never a mistake.
The transgender issue reflects confusion about one’s gender and not necessarily insight. The transgender person is confused regarding their identity as a person and as a gender.

How Can A Person Stop Identifying As Transgender?
The biblical view is that God’s intent for every male is to grow into masculinity, and for every female to grow into femininity. There is no person who is born with the wrong gender.
To stop identifying with being transgender, one must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He must experience the transforming power of Jesus Christ in his/her life.
Therefore one must become genuinely born again by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord & Saviour (John 1:12).
Without God working in our life, we cannot fully embrace the way that God has made us. When we have God in us we stop becoming self-conscious but we become God-conscious.
Our identity should be in Jesus Christ and not in how we feel. We should not be governed by our emotions alone but we must be governed by the living word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
God can help transgender people to deal with their confusion and to deal with the deep-rooted emotional and spiritual issues that has caused them to think incorrectly about their genders.

Should We Consult Horoscopes?

Should we consult horoscopes? Are we supposed to read our horoscopes and believe them? A horoscope is defined as a forecast of a person’s future, typically including a depiction of character and circumstances, based on the relative positions of the stars and planets at the time of that person’s birth.
Therefore one of the purposes of horoscopes is to attempt to forecast the future and to gain insight into future events that may or may not happen in one’s personal life.
Another purpose of horoscopes is to perceive a person’s personality or character traits based on that person’s time of birth and zodiac sign.
Most people who consult their horoscope end up receiving instruction on how to live their life or what decisions to make based on the astrological chart or readings they have received.

There is no doubt that many people of different backgrounds and religions regularly consult horoscopes and believe that the answers to life’s issues and questions are found in the stars and planets.
However, should Christians consult horoscopes? Should we believe in astrology as the answer to our future? What does the Bible say about horoscopes?

Deuteronomy 18:10-12 NKJV
There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12 For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you.

Isaiah 47:13-14 NKJV
You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels; Let now the astrologers, the stargazers,
And the monthly prognosticators stand up and save you from what shall come upon you.
14 Behold, they shall be as stubble, The fire shall burn them; They shall not deliver themselves
From the power of the flame; It shall not be a coal to be warmed by, Nor a fire to sit before!

Astrology and horoscopes are a form of divination. Divination is a method of forecasting the future without the participation or power of God. Divination is therefore a demonic method of attempting to foretell the future. It is forbidden by God (Leviticus 19:26) and in many cases there is a demonic spirit of divination (Acts 16:16) that is involved in this practice.

God does not want us to consult astrologers and horoscopes. He wants us to consult Him and to trust in Him for our future (Proverbs 3:5-6). Divination only leads to fear, anxiety and a lack of trust in God who holds your life & future in His hands. Horoscopes lead people away from God because they are demonically inspired (1 Timothy 4:1). Horoscopes therefore shift people’s faith away from God and away from the Bible which is God-inspired (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

God’s will and plan for our lives cannot be found in astrology or by reading horoscopes. We can only find out God’s plan for our lives through meditating the Scriptures (Psalms 1:1-3) and by having a trusting, personal and prayerful relationship with God through our Saviour Jesus Christ (John 14:1-6).
Only our Creator knows our future. Only our Creator can direct our lives if we allow Him into our life. Only our Creator can reveal to us the truth (Jeremiah 33:3).

Jeremiah 29:11-13 NKJV
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

God has a plan and a future for our lives. Let us trust in Him. Let us put our total faith in Him and not in horoscopes.

WHO OR WHAT DO YOU TRUST?
Have you been trusting in anything else other than Jesus Christ in your life? Our trust for our future should only be in God and not in anything or anyone else (Jeremiah 17:5-8).
Are you tired of putting your trust in horoscopes and astrology to give you guidance about your future?
Why not instead put your trust in your Creator – God?
God created you “to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11) and only God is able to give you direction pertaining to your future.
To have a personal relationship with God we must accept His begotten Son Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. Jesus is the way, the truth and life towards having a divine and godly direction in our life (John 14:6)

DO YOU WANT TO BE A CHRISTIAN or A FOLLOWER OF JESUS CHRIST???
