What is the Origin of Life?

What is the origin of life? Where does life come from? Does life come from non-life? Is life the product of the Big Bang or is God the Creator of all life?

Spontaneous Generation
One of the initial theories of the origin of life was spontaneous generation. This is the theory or belief that living things can arise from non-living material. The belief was that certain living forms such as maggots could arise from dead flesh or that fleas could arise from inanimate matter such as dust.
Whilst spontaneous generation has been disproven, what is crucial is the belief that life comes from non-life and this belief is still held by various scientists, evolutionists and atheists to this day.
Louis Pasteur in the 1800s disproved the theory of spontaneous generation and proved scientifically & experimentally that living things can only come from another living source.
Therefore the belief that non-life material can create living organisms cannot be scientifically proven and science experiments have failed to prove that life originates from non-living material.

Abiogenesis
Just like spontaneous generation, abiogenesis incorporates the theory that non-living material is the source of life. The major difference is that spontaneous generation is an obsolete theory. Spontaneous generation was believed to be able to occur over a shorter period of time.
Abiogenesis however, is the idea that the natural process of life arises from non-living matter, such as simple organic compounds. It is presumed or assumed to have occurred on Earth over 3 billion years ago. Abiogenesis theory is more complex in its study and attempts to discover how the first life on Earth emerged through a chain of increasingly complex organic chemical reactions, but did so only several times before giving rise to billions of years of subsequent, increasingly complicated life forms.
Secular scientists, evolutionists and atheists seldom admit it but abiogenesis is only a hypothesis. The abiogenesis theory is full of guesses, assumptions and historical conclusions that cannot be tested or proved scientifically. Therefore abiogenesis should not be received as factual or truth.
Just like spontaneous generation, abiogenesis tries to answer the question: Can non-life create life?
However, believers of abiogenesis to this day cannot prove that the origin of life comes for non-living material.

Panspermia
Panspermia is the suggestion that life on earth may have originated from outer space or other parts of the universe. Panspermia suggests that microscopic life was distributed to the earth by asteroids, comets or meteorites. The hypothesis also suggests that life may have begun after the Big Bang over 10 billion years ago.
Just like spontaneous generation & abiogenesis, the hypothesis of Panspermia cannot be tested nor proven scientifically. It is a series of guesses and assumptions by atheists and secular scientists for which there is no proof for such claims.

GOD AS THE CREATOR OF LIFE

Hebrews 11:3 NKJV
By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

For the Christian, the answer to the origin of life is very simple. God is the Creator of all that we see. God is the originator of life. Without God there cannot be any life.
Hebrews 11:3 tells us that the things which are seen were not made by the things which are visible.
Therefore, just because God is invisible, it does not mean that God does not exist.
Also, just because God is invisible, it does not mean that He did not create the visible.
God is living and therefore only life can come from the living. It is also a scientific fact that life can create life.
The problem with atheists, evolutionists and secular scientists is that they refuse to acknowledge the existence of God. They would rather shift having their faith placed in God to having their faith placed in scientifically unproven hypothesis such as spontaneous generation, abiogenesis or panspermia.

Christians are often ridiculed for not having proof that God is the Creator of all life. However, Christians have always believed that God exists and that God is the intelligent Creator of the universe as we know it. Christians do not apologize for their faith in God. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1) and without faith it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6).

Atheists and secular scientists however take a hypocritical approach to their stance of the origin of life. While claiming to only look at the evidence, their historical conclusions regarding the origin of life are neither scientific and cannot be proven.
They ridicule Christians for lacking proof of the origin of life whilst they themselves lack proof for their own theories regarding the very same subject.
Again and again scientific evidence is stacking up that non-life CANNOT create life and no amount of scientific study or hypothesis will be able to prove that life originated from non-living material.

What is the origin of life? Genesis 1:1-31 clearly tells us the origin of life. God is the Creator. Without God there is no life.
