Does God Still Perform Miracles Today?

Does God still work miracles today in our modern age? For example, is there still evidence around the world that God does the supernatural work of healing the sick, healing the blind or even raising the dead like what happened in the Bible?
What we do know from the Bible itself is that God does not change. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Therefore, whatever miracles He did in the past, He can certainly do them in the present and also in the future.
The nature of God is such that He cannot be put inside a box. God is not limited in His ability to do any miraculous work in the life of people. Therefore God can choose to work miraculously in anyone and at any time according to His divine sovereign will.

Therefore even in our present age, there is evidence of God working miraculously in the lives of people. God still heals; God still gives spiritual gifts to men and He is able to perform any miraculous sign that will ultimately serve His purpose and give glory to Him alone.

However, we must not be a generation that seeks only after miracles. The Jews were a people who would always seek a sign. Yet the irony is that even though God performed many signs and wonders for the Israelites, the Jews had unbelief in their heart towards God.

Numbers 14:11
Then the Lord said to Moses: “How long will these people reject Me? And how long will they not believe Me, with all the signs which I have performed among them?”

John 12:37
Though He had done so many signs before them, they still did not believe in Him.

Therefore, signs and wonders do not guarantee a change of heart. Miracles do not always convert a person to genuinely follow after God.
Our genuine pursuit should be after God Himself and not after the miracles. We should seek a relationship with God rather than to seek after signs and wonders.

False Miracles By False Prophets
The Bible also warns us that even in our present age, there will be false prophets who will perform false miracles in order to deceive people.
Jesus says in Matthew 24:24-25: “For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand.”
It’s therefore important to realize that even the devil can perform spiritual or physical signs and wonders, but with the specific intention of deceiving people.
In the Book of Acts, people were deceived by Simon the Magician as they believed that he had the power of God but yet he performed signs and wonders through sorcery and magic (Acts 8:9-11).
It is therefore important to spiritually discern whether the miracles that are performed in our present day are really from God or not.
Whilst God may still work miracles today, we must note that the devil has his own people who like Pharaoh’s magicians, are able to imitate and create signs and wonders in order to lead people astray (Exodus 7:20-23).

What Is The Greatest Miracle?
The greatest miracle is that of salvation through Jesus Christ. Conversion to Christ is such a miracle that Jesus Himself said that there is joy in Heaven over one sinner who repents (Luke 15:7).
The conversion of a soul to Christ is more important to God than any miracle He has ever performed because it is the very reason why Jesus came to be crucified on earth (John 3:16).
Christ was crucified so that man may experience the miracle of being spiritually brought from death to life (Ephesians 2:1-9). Christ was crucified so that we may become a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).
In John 5:24, Jesus says: “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.”
The greatest miracle is to have the Holy Spirit residing in us and having Him work through us for the glory of Jesus Christ.

If you have never received the miracle of salvation, you can do so today. Jesus said that we must be born again if we are to enter the kingdom of God (John 3:3). So in order to be saved, we must become a follower of Jesus Christ through placing our total faith and trust in Christ as our Lord and Saviour.
It is only Jesus Christ who can save us and eternally reconcile us with God.

DO YOU WANT TO BE A CHRISTIAN or A FOLLOWER OF JESUS CHRIST???

1. ACKNOWLEDGE: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
This means that we have all broken God’s laws and God’s 10 Commandments like those mentioned in Exodus 20:1-17. For example, if you have told a lie; if you have stolen something; if you have lusted after somebody or if you have coveted. This means you are guilty of breaking at least one or more of God’s 10 Commandments. Breaking God’s commandments makes us sinners. The fact that we are sinners who have broken God’s law means that we are accountable to God who is the Lawgiver. Romans 6:23 says that “the wages of sin is death BUT the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”
You must acknowledge that you are a sinner who has broken God’s commandments and that you therefore need Jesus in your life.

2. REPENT: “Unless you repent you will all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3), “Repent therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out” (Acts 3:19)
Repenting means: to change your mind; a sincere turning away, in heart, mind and action;
Therefore God wants you to repent of sinful values and of sinful living. God wants you to decide to
follow Him and to make Jesus the Lord of your life.

3. CONFESSION: “If we confess our sins. He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9)
God is a forgiving God. God will forgive any sin that you have done because Jesus died for ALL your sins and to set you free from the bondage of all types of sin in your life.

4. BELIEVE: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
You must believe that ONLY Jesus can save you and restore your relationship with God. You must believe that Jesus is the ONLY way by which you can have everlasting life and escape from eternal separation from God. You must believe that Jesus died on the cross for you and resurrected from the grave.
“He came to His own, and His own did not receive him, But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name” (John 1:11-12)
By faith, You must receive Jesus as Your Lord & Savior and therefore; you become a child of God; you become born again; you become a Christian; you restore your broken relationship with God

Why Not Make Your Eternal Decision NOW?

We become born again Christians by GRACE through FAITH or TOTAL TRUST in Jesus Christ as our Lord & Savior (Galatians 3:26) & (Ephesians 2:8,9). Salvation is a FREE gift received through FAITH in Christ.

PLEASE NOTE: You can choose to pray in your own words. This prayer is a sample prayer and it is only an EXPRESSION of your faith, belief & trust in Jesus. Salvation is by GRACE through FAITH or BELIEVING in Christ Jesus as your Lord & Saviour.

I confess Lord that I have sinned against You and today I ask You to forgive me of all of my sins, past present and future.
Today I repent and have decided to follow you. Thank you for forgiving all my sins.
From this moment, come into my life Lord Jesus & take full control of my life. I want to follow You Jesus and I want to follow Your ways. Save me and from today, make me the person You want me to be.
I receive You Lord Jesus right now by faith. I trust You as my Lord and Savior – Amen”
