Who Is Jesus to You? (Part 2)

The world and unbelievers have a problem understanding and believing the existence of a supernatural all-powerful God. The world does not view nor understand God from a spiritual view, but the world instead views God from the lens of evolution, science, assumption or various man-made philosophies and theories.
1 Corinthians 2:14
But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
An atheist will often ask a Christian to prove the existence of God. The unbeliever or atheist relies more on what they see with their physical eyes. They do not live by faith, but they believe by the principle of “seeing is believing”. The Christian however lives according to the word of God which also says that “the just shall live by faith” and that “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. – Hebrews 11:3 NKJV”
Therefore in order to know Christ, you must have FAITH in Him and you must be able to BELIEVE Him. The interesting thing about FAITH is that you are NOT required to INTELLECTUALLY UNDERSTAND in order to have FAITH in God.
FAITH does not look at your background or social position or even your intelligence. Many of the people who received God’s touch and healing when Jesus was on earth were very ordinary people and they were not intellectuals as the Pharisees and Sadducees. Jesus would often touch the lowest people in society and often it was the faith of the people in Christ that opened for healing in their lives. Which is why Jesus would often tell those He healed or helped and say “your faith has made you well” (Mark 5:34, Mark 10:32, Luke 7:50, Luke 18:42)
Therefore the difference between those who personally know and have a relationship with God in their life and those who do not believe in God is summed up in one word – FAITH.
Matthew 16:15-18
He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.”
When Jesus asked His disciples who they thought He was, Peter answered correctly by identifying Jesus as being the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Jesus clearly responds by saying that Peter’s revelation of who Jesus is did not come from his own understanding or intellect, but the revelation of Christ came from God the Father.
The same is true of every Christian believer. As a Christian, your revelation of God comes from God because you have chosen to open yourself by FAITH to God. Even though you have not physically seen God with your physical eyes, you believe and know in your spirit that God exists and you see and experience God’s presence and work in your life. This is the FAITH that an atheist or unbeliever needs in order to know who Jesus is.
The knowledge of God and who Jesus is cannot be discovered in the natural or by natural understanding, but it can only be revealed in the spiritual by faith.
John 1:12-13 NKJV
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Therefore if we are to fully understand, experience and know who Jesus is in our life, then we constantly need to exercise faith in Him so that He may continue to reveal to us about Himself and His word.
In addition, if we are to help and unbeliever to know God, then we need to teach them to exercise their faith.
